£450,600 actual bequests so far

How

We are asking people to consider making a bequest of 2% of their final net estates to their own favourite charity in their Wills. The objective of this website is to bring together Charities and the Will Writing industry to encourage people to make a Will and consider a bequest for charity. We have called it the gift2percent scheme but the amount of a bequest can be varied entirely at your discretion.

Have you got a will

In England & Wales 70% of the population has not yet made a Will…this is a problem. It is easy to make a Will and at the same time make a bequest to a favourite charity. If you make a bequest in your Will to the charity of your choice the best bit is that it won’t cost YOU a penny! And if you are one of the 30% with a Will then you can still make a legacy bequest to your favourite charity without fundamentally changing your Will – you just raise a Codicil.

What is behind this great idea

We want to get all UK Will Writers behind this idea and then secure a promise to donate £50 to charity for each new client brought to the scheme (i.e. £64 with Gift Aid). If you already have an up-to-date Will but wish to pledge 2% then you can create a simple Codicil to effect the change. Use this website to find a Will Writer.

What charities do we support

Well that's the best thing about this scheme, it's completely upto you! You can take a look through our listed charities or nominate a charity of your choice. Once you have picked a charity then you simply need to contact the Will Writer and they will take care of everything else.

Our target

By making a gift in your Will you will be making a lasting legacy for charity. Our target is £100 million of pledged gifts and £1 million in direct donations. The Crunch Questions for everyone! Have you personally made a Will and if so, is it still up-to-date?  Had you previously included or considered including a charitable bequest?  Would you now be happy to Gift 2 Percent to your own favourite charity?
